I LOVE knowing this stuff about you guys.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16142476352718903636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16417107.post-82897104031026795402008-10-03T10:14:00.000-04:002008-10-03T10:14:00.000-04:00I agree with the overall thesis of your blog; I sa...I agree with the overall thesis of your blog; I saw two students just yesterday get into a bitch-fit over politics in the middle of class. What started off as a friendly, informational discussion between the whole class turned into two people practically screaming over when life begins: birth or conception. Ridiculous.

I don't say this very often, but I feel lucky that we live in this country (hold on, MSNBC, I must be anti-patriotic because I don't say those words. Arrest the Communist!), because we have the right to say whatever the hell we want and we won't get arrested for doing so. Some people forget that we all, not just ourselves, have the freedom to say whatever we want; with that comes the idea that if we have the freedom to say what we want, we also have the freedom to be respected for what we say.Sad Pandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06159572408723203857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16417107.post-89628454486783338982008-10-01T19:25:00.000-04:002008-10-01T19:25:00.000-04:00WK: oh absolutely, i am all for political discussi...WK: oh absolutely, i am all for political discussion, until it turns personal and ugly and just disrespectful. i need to learn to just stop debating at that point, but i was never good at not having the last word. haha. it's a fault i have. thank you for your comment. i'm glad you're one of my blogger friends. :)

dr. turtle: i too cannot wait until this election is over. i was trying to not post about politics anymore, but today just set me off again. i love the "cold, finger pointing crabby little assholes" part. i'm going to have to remember that description! you rock.Tracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16659946702584728654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16417107.post-36818487774544359202008-10-01T18:29:00.000-04:002008-10-01T18:29:00.000-04:00Oh, you just like green M&M's 'cause e...Oh, you just like green M&M's 'cause everyone else does, you followers. I, on the other hand, am a rebel, and I LOVE the brown ones! :)

I kid...

Not sure if you read my rant a few weeks ago about how I hated politics, and your last paragraph pretty much explained better than I could what I feel, and perhaps what I meant to say. I hate politics because of what it brings out in people...we go from being friendly, and excepting other's opinions and beliefs as theirs to cold, finger-pointing crabby little assholes who think our opinion is the only right one. Drives me crazy.

I cannot wait for the election to be over, just so all the crap is over too. Just because we don't all think the same, or more because some people do think the same, doesn't mean we don't think for ourselves.

...I could keep going and going too...Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06453257493002278226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16417107.post-42460162626350504532008-10-01T18:20:00.000-04:002008-10-01T18:20:00.000-04:00good for you! They are, in fact YOUR beliefs so s...good for you! They are, in fact YOUR beliefs so stand up for them! And you are not stupid or a crowd follower. I agree fully with many...particularly the green M&M one. Why is that? I also fancy the blue ones - I save those for next to last to eat, of course saving the green for last! hehehe ;)

It sucks a person has to be acting like this. I do think it is totally ok for people to question things...especially when it comes to political issues. I am up for debates as I am always courious why people view things differently then me and want to learn...even if it means in the end I still don't agree. I also think that at times there are two sides to all facts. However, when people don't respect others opinions and are just rude, I have no tolerance for that. (this is my biological father)

In those cases I have learned to not say anything. That type of person does not want to listen but just wants to be heard. They will take everything you say and turn it to make "their point". They will never admit they are wrong, because they will twist things around until they are right in some way shape or form. You can't argue with people like that because it is just a waste of time and it could cause an ulcer ;)

Have a relaxing night with your family!!Wrestling Kittieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12215343504044584811noreply@blogger.com
