Well, we've made it through 2 days under Ohio's new smoking ban and not surprisingly, people are continuing to bitch and moan about it.
They say: It's a violation of property rights, constitutional rights, etc. It's communism. It's Big Brother watching us and telling people what they can't do - depsite the fact that the vice is legal. Bars and restaurants are going to shut down in record numbers because smokers can't smoke. Blah. Blah. Blah.
I say: shut the hell up and go to Michigan if you have to smoke at a bar. Spread your second-hand smoke up north - it just leaves more clean air for me to inhale down here in the Buckeye state.
It is just truly amazing how much people can bitch and whine about something like this.
Smokers can still smoke, just not in public places such as restaurants, bars, etc. Sit it your car and do it. Or stand outside and freeze your ass off. Or better yet, why not quit smoking all together? Of course then you'd have nothing to whine about. Then you couldn't complain that the government is infringing on your personal rights.
But the best part, in my mind, is that there are NON-SMOKERS who think this ban is unfair! WHAT? WHY? I would LOVE to know how it is unfair to them.
These whiny smokers are acting as if Ohio is the first state in the union to ban smoking. Uh, yeah..hello....we are not the first state to do it. And there are stricter bans than this one. But hey, it's a free country - whine away.
