I've never gotten into the Harry Potter thing. I'd love to tell you that there's good reason, however this is all I have:
My mother-in-law attempted to FORCE me to read EACH and EVERY book and solely based on principal, I declined. She would go on and on about how good they were and tell me, "You MUST read them. You have to."
I would think in my head, "I will never do anything that will make you happy or that will spur me to say, 'Yes, you were right.'"
I love Harry Potter books as well. I didn't know what I was getting in to and was basically reading the first one (3 years or more after it came out) because I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about. I read the rest of the ones that were out at that time within 3 weeks time.
