...what I know now.
Working on a college campus as I do, I get to see the hustle and bustle of the start of the school year first-hand. School starts on campus Monday morning...so it's getting pretty busy around here.
All this talk of a new school year got me thinking....
Driving in to work today, I realized that it's been 16 years since I was a college freshman. Yes, I did say SIXTEEN YEARS. [Yes, I'm old. Don't go there].
And I thought to myself: Gee, if I knew then what I know now, how different my college experience might have been.
Things I might have done differently:
-studied abroad at one point during my education. I should have gone to Europe for a semester.
- not had a "serious" boyfriend when I started college. Dumb, dumb move.
- studied more. Period.
- started working on the campus paper much earlier.
- had a "real" minor in political science. or maybe a double major.
What about you? What might you have done differently in college?
I think I wouldn't have taken life so seriously then. I had several jobs my first two years, then a full-time job my last two years.
ReplyDeleteI didn't "go crazy" like so many other people, which just really isn't my nature, but I think I would have probably just not taken life so seriously.
