Bad, I mean REALLY bad TV

As none of the new seasons of GOOD television shows has started yet, I am stuck trying to find something worthwhile to watch most nights after the kids are in bed.

Last night was no exception.

What I found was just BAD.

I channel surfed my way over to the MTV Video Music Awards just because I wanted to see the train wreck that is Britney Spears open the show.

And what a horrid train wreck it was.

First and foremost, she looked like she was either (1) stoned out of her mind or (2) scared sh*tless. Or both. She lip-synched the song (not that this should be a shock to anyone!), her outfit was horrendous -- it was certainly not what she should have been wearing. Perhaps the pre-Kfed, pre-2 babies Britney could have worn it....but it was just very unflattering. C'mon Brit, you had two babies....you have curves now....accentuate them -- don't go out there half-naked.

I don't think she was actually dancing, it really looked more like she was desperately trying to find an exit from the stage and her dancers kept blocking her way.

It really was a train wreck.

After that fiasco, I thought my TV viewing couldn't get any worse. I was wrong.

I headed over to VH1 as I surfed the channels and happened upon the gem that is "Rock of Love" with Bret Michaels (you know, the former lead singer of Poison). Well, let's just sum it up this way: it's like The Bachelor but with an aging rock star as the "bachelor" and a bunch of wanna-be groupies as the "bachelorettes". Instead of a "rose ceremony" there's a "backstage pass" ceremony where Bret asks the girls "will you stay in this house and continue to rock my world?" HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Seriously. You just have to watch it to get the full effect of it. Next week's episode the rock star meets the parents. That should be a HOOT.

  1. Oh, it was painful wasn't it? She really did look scared. (I liked your description of her "trying to find an exit..." Ha!)

It's the end of an era. She's done.
