And what a day it's been

My day started out OK. Wednesdays are my day off, so of course I was hoping to sleep in. Just a little. And, of course that didn't happen. I was up at 6 a.m. [Thank you baby Emma].

I woke up cranky, but still it was my day off....so I tried to cheer up. I had my coffee, read the paper, fed the baby. All was going well.

Then....

Olivia got dressed and decided that she needed to wear red socks with her pink Crocs (and a purple T-shirt). Never one to stifle her "creativity" when it comes to her wardrobe, I said sure. Go ahead and wear red socks with pink Crocs. So, Olivia goes to her room to find a pair of red socks in her dresser.

Now, normally she can stand on her tip-toes and reach the sock drawer with no problem. Not today.

As I'm attempting to dress the baby - who would rather crawl away naked than be dressed - I hear a HUGE CRASH. Followed by crying.

The dresser had fallen over. On top of Olivia. She was under the dresser.

Yeah. I said under the dresser. Covered by all the drawers.

Thankfully, her toddler bed caught the weight of the dresser, otherwise I'd be posting this from a hospital room. She was not hurt. Just scared. And a bit shaken up. [Yeah I think my heart literally stopped beating when I saw the dresser toppled over].

I thought my day couldn't get any worse.

Then, Jake (one of our dogs) peed in the living room. He's not a puppy, so therefore he should know better. So, by 9 a.m. I'm cleaning up dog pee.

Then, Olivia had an "accident". In her jeans. And, all over the bathroom floor.

So, then I'm cleaning up more pee.

It's now 4 p.m. So far, I haven't had to clean up any more bodily fluids or rescue anyone else from underneath furniture, so I'd say things are looking up.

  2. i too am glad she is OK. :) it was very scary to say the least.

i however, am now suffering a strained/sprained hand from lifting the dresser (i guess i did it with one hand, thinking i was the bionic woman!).
