It's now officially official.
I hate trees.
We live in a neighborhood with the words "Woods" in the name. That should give you some indication of just HOW MANY trees surround us.
Well, we have an Ash tree that has been infected by the Emerald Ash Borer and is dying [we just found this out]. We had a tree removal company come out today and give us an estimate for removal.
Hold on here folks....
$3,000.
For one freakin' tree.
I don't know about you, but I don't have $3,000 just sitting around, waiting to be spent.
I'm going to get some more estimates, but I have a feeling it's going to end up in that range.
If you know ANYONE who owns/works for a tree removal service that is REASONABLE...please let me know!
Damn trees.
OMG that's insane! I can't believe it's that much to cut down a DEAD tree!
ReplyDeleteThat's why (after the shock of realizing it could have been SOOOOO much worse) we were so thankful when our almost dead pine tree fell down this winter.
ReplyDeleteIt saved us a TON of money because we didn't have to hire someone to do it.
R's dad also works for Vermeer and brought over some sweet equipment to help us cut it all up and mulch the smaller stuff.
Get more estimates. One person's estimate for our tree was $1000 and it was a 70 foot pine tree.... so hopefully you can get a better quote from someone.
yeah we're getting at least 2 more quotes. i found one place that offers 4 years financing w/ no interest. so...$3000 over 4 years is $62 or so a month. that sounds better.
ReplyDeletehave i mentioned i hate trees?
Did you try Savory tree service, or was that the $3000 quote?
ReplyDeleteyes. and yes. :)
