Please don't say this

As an editor, certain things really irritate me.

Case in point: "The instructional staff is second to none...."

Well, if you are second to none, aren't you really FIRST...so how about if you just say that the staff is the best. Or first rate. Or something that makes more sense than 'second to none.'

You can't be second to NONE. "None" means nothing. There is nothing there. So you're really first.

It's like "needless to say"...well, if it's needless to say, then don't say it.

OK...that's my mini-rant for the day.

One of "those" days

Ever have one of those days when you feel totally uninspired?

Call it writer's block. Or lack of inspiration.

Whatever it is, I've got it.

I'm struggling with the smallest tasks today.

Things that make me go EEWWWW!!!

Scientists have discovered the fossil of an 8 FOOT SCORPION!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, I said 8 feet. As in, this sucker was 8-feet tall. Thankfully, it lived about 390 million years ago. (Yeah, I tried to think about that time span for about 2 seconds and then it just made my brain hurt. A lot).
