when i was in Orlando for a conference a few months ago, i was at a restaurant close to the magic kingdom and i looked over and Capt. Jack Sparrow was eating dinner with his girlfriend (maybe another Captain, but still - he hadn't bothered to take off the makeup or hair or garb!)
yep, i said to a "cast member" something about how good that guy was at being (i.e., "pretending to be") Capt Jack and she quickly corrected me and said "He IS Capt. Jack (as in, he's not acting..he's a real person named Capt Jack Sparrow). Johnny Depp only played HIM in the movie."
But of course. Every character at Disney is "real" -- as in, we're supposed to believe that NO ONE is inside the giant mouse costume.
How could I forget to mention this?
