Ouch!

A co-worker is running to Panera and was asking what, if anything, we wanted. I was thinking it would be nice to have an icy something to drink. Then, I checked the Panera Web site.

Oh. My. Gosh.

If you happen to be a fan of their IC Mocha or IC Carmel drink, read on. A 20 oz IC Mocha has 700 calories and 29 grams of fat. The 16 oz IC Mocha....25 grams of fat and 570 calories.

You think...it's just coffee and chocolate and ice and some whipped cream, right. Not so much. Apparently they also mix in a whole lotta FAT too.

Wow. I am so happy that Starbucks now has "skinny" coffees on their menu. You can order a "skinny" latte - a 'tall' has just 90 calories. [Skinny is non-fat and sugar free].

How I wish I was still young enough [and thin enough] to NEVER care about calories and fat grams. But I'm not. And so I must care.

I'm so bummed.

  4. So misleading! I don't remember a time when I didn't think about fat and calories. Sigh. Sometimes I don't care....
