Appetizer: What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called?
Middle name: Leigh. And no, I wouldn't change any of my names.
Soup: If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most?
Fabrics: cotton (probably with lycra for comfort), other "comfy" fabrics, nothing clingy.
Colors: black, grey, purple
Styles: things that flatter those of us with hips and curves
Salad: What is your least favorite chore, and why?
Cleaning the litter box. I think that is self-explanatory. Which is why my husband does it. :)
Main Course: What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?
Walking thru parking lots at night, alone. It goes back to my senior year in high school when I got mugged. In a parking lot. At night.
Dessert: Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment.
At my desk, at work. I can see a photo of me and Kevin from our honeymoon, a can of Diet Coke and the HUGE pile of work that I must now attend to.
Enjoy the feast! Pull up a chair and join us, won't you?

ReplyDeleteMiddle name: Rhea. No, I wouldn't change them. I've come to love my names. Growing up Nadja Rhea wasn't the easiest, but it fits me.

Fabrics: cotton/lycra blend so my chub is comfortable no matter what.
Colors: black and pink
Styles: things that flatter those of us with hips and curves
Salad: What is your least favorite chore, and why?
I HATE the tiles in my bathroom. They always look dirty and I swear they always smell even though no one agrees.
Main Course: What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?
The death of any of the big 3: My daughter, Mom, or husband. Death has always been the main "O" in my OCD.
Dessert: Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment.
At my kitchen table. A dog bone, a camera, and an orchid.
Middle Name
ReplyDeleteLike so many others, "Ann." However, my Mom and I share it, so I would NEVER change it.
fabrics, colors, styles
Fabrics: Breathable cottons. Never silk or satiny prom-dress material.
Colors: Colorful mixes of prints and solids. Definitely some orange.
Styles: I couldn't live without the empire waist. Stuff for short people.
Least ./;favorite chore:
Ironing. I hate it.
Frightens me
Losing my Mom. My Dad passed away when I was a kid and I was ALWAYS fearful that I'd lose my Mom -- making me an orphan. (I'm over this now. :-)
Sitting right now
In my office at my desk.
I can see:
1.)My dog sitting in her basket on my desk.
2.) My pink/Ohio cell phone. (Waiting for my little sister to call me.)
3.)A Lily of the Valley plant M. bought me. :-)
My middle name: Lynn. I like all of my names. Including my new last name. It's funny how you 'become' your name.
ReplyDeleteFashion designer fabrics: I like denim and cotton.
Styles: I love clean lines and simple patterns that make people look tall and put together.
Least favorite chore: mopping.
I'm frightened by: mayonnaise. I think it's the nastiest substance there is. No real reason why.
3 things I can see: Sitting at my desk and I can see my water bottle, a pic of MD and Nora (our dog) both in their Colts football jerseys and post-it notes all over my computer.
Middle name: Lee. I love my middle name.
ReplyDeleteFashion:
Fabric - comfy cotton

Frightens you - Death.
Sitting: At work and I can see a pic of T & I from our wedding, my sprite, and a bill that have to pay today.
Oh, yay for the Lily of the Valley plant TP! That's fun that you still have it on your desk!
ReplyDelete:)
Middle Name - change? Donn. it's after my mom's dad and my twin brother's is Jonn after my dad's dad. it's a cool family thing, so no.
ReplyDeleteFashion: denim b/c i'd like to design jeans. just jeans that flatter everyone b/c a great pair of jeans is priceless.
Least fav. chore: cleaning the toilet.
Fear: i'm afraid of being robbed and killed. maybe i didn't feel safe as a child or watched too many scary movies?
Sitting: at my work desk, and for some reason i have 3 drinks (water, diet dr. pepper and a kool-aid from the dining hall at work)
Name: Rae (after my Grandpa). Nah, my name has become who I am. Although I have the same name as my sis-in-law, which gets confusing. So it'd be nice to have a nickname.
ReplyDeleteFashion designer: I love cotton. I love comfortable. I'd make non-shrinkable cotton though. I HATE when it shrinks!!!! Colors: pink and black
Chore: I HATE cleaning showers. I'd rather do toilets than showers. The showers are really gross to me for some reason. And difficult to clean.
Frightens you: Driving on highways. Back when I lived in FL and used to drive over the HUGE St. Pete bridge, I had a panic attack. And have had issues with highways ever since.
Sitting: in my sunroom. My backyard. My tv. And a knocked over Memory Game scattered all over the floor.
ooo...the Sunshine Skyway? I HATE that bridge. I remember the old one, and then when they built the new one and left part of the old one up, it totally freaked me out. Last time we were down there, I made my husband go the LOOOOONG way from Treasure Island back to Apollo Beach. No Sunshine Skyway for me.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you got mugged. I am glad you are ok. That is incredibly scary.
ReplyDeleteyep. it was at Westgate when I was a senior in high school (17 years ago..oh geez, i'm old).
ReplyDeletethis guy came up behind me, grabbed me and threw me into the wall outside Rite Aid, took my purse and said he had a gun and would use it.
thinking i was Rambo, i actually chased the guy on foot down secor and ended up running up to some stranger's door (the homeowner had actually heard me screaming and was running out to see what happened).
afterward, my dad and i had to go downtown and so i could look at the "perp" book of photos, etc. They never caught the guy.
and for weeks i was afraid to go home alone after school, because he had taken my purse and i figured he knew where i lived, etc.
and to this day if i hear someone walking behind me and i'm alone, i tend to stop and turn around to see who it is.
Sunshine skyway... yep, that's it. It feels like you are on a freakin roller coaster, while going 70mph and YOU are in control. Freaks me out. And scarred me for life. Dang bridge.
ReplyDeleteMost people I meet also hate the bridge. My parents met this rough biker dude in FL once who said that bridge gives him panic attacks too. Made me feel so much better. :)
