In honor of Labor Day, I've created my own Friday's Feast.

Again no Feast...what is going on?

So, every Friday I head over to Friday's Feast and see what the Chef has prepared. For a month there has been nothing. No feasts. I am beginning to think that the Chef was abducted by aliens. Or has really bad food poisoning.

Anyway....I am a bit swamped today with household stuff...so I won't be creating a home cooked feast for this week....

Mabye next week when I have more time.

I miss the Feasts...and hope to start creating more so you can all join in again. :)

And now, back to laundry and cleaning up after two kids. [sigh]

An Olympic Feast

Appetizer: Which do you prefer, Summer or Winter Olympics?

Soup: What is your favorite Olympic moment?

OK...that's the feast for this week. Enjoy the opening cermonies tonight -- on tape -- since I think it's already tomorrow in Beijing! I hate when the games are in a time zone that is almost a whole day ahead of us!

Again, no new Feast!

Apparently....The Chef at the usual place for Fridays Feast is having some technical difficulties, so once again there is no new Feast this week. Darn computers.

And, as I'm still dealing with my bronchitis...and I basically feel like crap...I apologize, but I can't come up with any good questions today for a homemade Feast. [Hey, I'm not even cooking dinner for my fam tonight!].

I might be able to muster the mental strength at some point tomorrow to "cook" something up...so check back.

A homemade Feast...

For some reason there was no "Friday's Feast" posted at the Feast Web site yesterday.

So, in honor of the new 'Batman' flick, here's my superhero version:

Appetizer: Who is a better Batman - Michael Keaton or Christian Bale?

Soup: Do you prefer the "old" Tim Burton Batman flicks, or the new, darker Batman?

Salad: Who is the best villan and superhero combo?

Main course: If you could have any superhero power, what would it be?

Dessert: Do you think Heath Ledger will win an Oscar for his portrayal of 'The Joker'?

OK...admittedly not the best questions, but it's early and I'm tired! :)

A "Feast" for Saturday

OK...so I was out of town yesterday...I didn't forget the Feast! Here it is!!!


Appetizer: When was the last time you had your hair cut/trimmed?
Thursday night.

Soup: Name one thing you miss about being a child.
How simple everything seemed.

Salad: Pick one: butter, margarine, olive oil.
Butter. It's the most versatile.

Main Course: If you could learn another language, which one would you pick, and why?
Italian. I've always wanted to learn to it.

Dessert: Finish this sentence: In 5 years I expect to be…
Happy, healthy and loving life. [I hate these "5 year projections". It was always my least favorite question during a job interview.]

Happy 4th of July!

In honor of America's birthday...there is no Friday's Feast today...apparently the "chef" has taken the weekend off.

So....I'll post one simple question...

Feast time!

Appetizer: What is the weather like today where you live?
Hazy, warm, humid. Storms brewing for later this afternoon.

Soup: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how career-minded are you?
Probably a 7 or 8. I love what I do right now...but still think about the "what if's" if I had passed the bar exam.

Salad: What type of window coverings do you have in your home? Blinds, curtains, shutters, etc.?
We have sheers in our living/great room and dining room, plantation shades in our family room, blinds in our kitchen and laundry room, and blinds in all bedrooms. Whew!

Main Course: Name something that instantly cheers you up.
Picking the kids up at daycare and getting hugs and kisses from them.

Dessert: How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning?
Never. The alarm clock is on my husband's side of the bed, so he turns it off. I usually just lay there for a few minutes before dragging myself out of bed.

First day of summer Friday's Feast

Appetizer: If you could live on another continent for 1 year, which one would you choose?
Europe probably. Or maybe Australia.

Soup: Which browser do you use to surf the Internet?
Internet Explorer.

Salad: On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how much do you know about the history of your country?
7 or 8 probably. History is one of my favorite topics.

Main Course: Finish this sentence: Love is…
My daughters.

Dessert: Have you ever been in or near a tornado?
Never in. And I don't think I've ever been near one either. At least not in CLOSE proximity.

Appetizer: Do you consider yourself to be an optimist or a pessimist?
I try to be an optimist...but often end up a pessimist.

Soup: What is your favorite color of ink to write with?
Purple

Salad: How often do you get a manicure or pedicure? Do you do them yourself or go to a salon and pay for them?
My last salon pedi was in September 2007. If I could afford it, I'd get a salon pedi every month. I rarely paint my fingernails..who has the time. The last salon mani I had was February 2005. Ugh. I normally just paint my own toes...I ALWAYS have my toes polished...it's been that way since I was a teenager.

Main Course: Have you ever won anything online? If so, what was it?
No.

Dessert: In which room in your house do you keep your home computer?
It's in our 4th bedroom -- which is used as a den/office. I also have a laptop in my kitchen...but no wireless router...so I don't use it yet.

Friday's Feast is back! And it's HOT!

Appetizer: When you drink soda/pop/coke, do you prefer to drink it from the bottle, a can, or after pouring it into a cup?
I usually pour it in a glass/cup with 2 ice cubes. Yes, just two.

Soup: What television show are you willing to stay up late to watch?
Last week I stayed up to watch the season finale of "Lost". But normally, I won't stay up late just to watch a regular episode. I need my sleep.

Salad: Name one person, place, or thing you think of as brilliant.
I think my dad is brilliant.

Main Course: Would you be willing to work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days in order to save gas?
I already work 4 days a week...but it's in Bowling Green, OH...so I'm not saving gas.

Dessert: If you were a superhero, what would you call yourself?
I would be SuperMama. Able to wipe away boogies in a single swipe of the hand, change diapers with my eyes closed and have dinner ready in a flash!

Let's Feast!

Appetizer: What is the nearest big city to your home?
Well, Toledo isn't really a "big" city (like NYC big)...so I'd have to say in Ohio, Cleveland would be the nearest big city. Others include: Detroit, Chicago, Columbus...

Soup: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets?

Salad: Describe your hair (color, texture, length).
Reddish brown, short, naturally curly, very thick.

Main Course: What kind of driver are you? Courteous? Aggressive? Slow?
I am an aggressive driver. I also have road rage - I yell, curse, flip off and berate slow, stupid drivers who don't at least go the speed limit or who are just dumb. That being said, I do go the speed limit and HATE to be tailgated by people who insist on ingoring the speed limit. They get yelled at and flipped off too. I deem many people to be "horn worthy" on a daily basis. It's a disease, I need help. :)

Dessert: When was the last time you had a really bad week?
I tend to have more bad days than bad weeks. I had a bad day today -- at the zoo. Olivia was not on her best behavior. To say the least.

Yum-O! It's Friday's Feast!

Appetizer: When someone smiles at you, do you smile back?
Yes, I usually smile back. Unless it's a creepy person. Then, not so much.

Soup: Describe the flooring in your home. Do you have carpet, hardwood, vinyl, a mix?
Our foyer and 1/2 bath is granite tile, our great room is carpet, but the rest of the downstairs is hardwood (laminate). The upstairs is carpet -- except Olivia's room is also laminate and the bathrooms upstairs are tile.

Salad: Write a sentence with only 5 words, but all of the words have to start with the first letter of your first name.
Time to talk trash toots!

Main Course: Do you know anyone whose life has been touched by adoption?
My friend Jeannene - her nephew is adopted. Also, one of my friends from college was adopted.

Dessert: Name 2 blue things.
My husband's eyes. The ocean.

I'd get a beagle. And name it Lola.

Sometimes I enjoy it...so usually an 8.

In the a.m. I listen to a morning talk show on our local "pop" station; in the afternoon after I get the kids from daycare, we are listening to Disney CDs (Belle, Pocahontas, Jasmine).

Dessert: When was the last time you bought a clock? And in which room did you put it?
I have no idea when I last bought a clock. I think we received a small clock as a wedding gift...that one is in our home office.

Fall asleep easily at night (exhausted!), wake up OK in the a.m. Also love naps. :)

Very scary. I kept looking at the front of the car, not the road. Frightening.

Well, apparently the powers that be over at Friday's Feast are too busy to give us a list of questions for this week.

HA! I have 2 kids....my car is probably a 2. And that's on a good day.
