After venting about LOST - a show I used to love - I think I need to express my love (or strong like) for some other shows ---- ones that DO make me happy and entertain me!
1. The Sopranos - I have loved this show from the beginning. The theme song is great. The characters are amazing. The acting is top-notch. Yes, there have been some rough spots in the past two seasons....but for the most part, this show does not disappoint. I just ordered HBO so we can enjoy the final season starting next Sunday.
2. Bones - OK, yes this show is a bit hokey. But that's what makes it entertaining. Well, that and David Boreanez (who I have adored since his days on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" -- two of my all-time fave shows).
3. Grey's Anatomy - Yes, Meredith and Derek are now boring. But the rest of the cast shows promise. It's pure entertainment. And not as depressing as ER.
4. American Idol - Yes, I watch Idol. I have even voted for a few singers. They ultimately lost, but oh well. I can't watch the "audition" episodes....really, those people are just SAD. However, once the final 12 are chosen, count me in til the end.
And, when the major networks have nothing on, I head over to cable. "Nip/Tuck" is just cool. Repeats of CSI:Miami will help pass the time. Bravo also provides something entertaining -- "The Real Housewives of Orange County" is just guilty-pleasure reality tv, as is "Workout" (although, I'm not sure why this intrigues me...I've only seen 2 episodes). And there's always "Inside the Actor's Studio."
Oh, and I must add this -- repeats of Law and Order (the original L&O) on TNT are always good. (But only until the point when Jerry Orbach left the show -- his replacements are boring. If his character, Lenny, isn't in it, it's just not the same).
I do not watch any of those shows. Sad.
ReplyDeleteI will share my favorites:
1. The Office
2. Heroes
3. Project Runway
4. LOST
I agree, I ALWAYS end up watching The Real Housewives of Orange County. AND, I love, Inside the Actor's Studio.
I'm hoping to start watching Entourage, too.
Yeah, I might watch Entourage now...I think it's on after The Sopranos? It's on my "should watch" list!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Bones - a very underrated show that always entertains me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad I'm not the only AI person to avoid the auditions.
Otherwise, here is my top five:
1. House (though it's trying my patience this year)
2. Bones
3. CSI
4. Wildfire (the guiltiest pleasure of all on ABC Family)
5. Any sports
