I woke up this morning and my first thought (right after, 'Oh crap. It's only Tuesday) was "oh crap..I forgot to blog yesterday."
Now that's not to say that my Monday afternoon blogging is a chore. It isn't. But yesterday afternoon was madness when it came to free time so blogging didn't happen.
Lucky for all (2) of you...I decided to take a few minutes and blog today.
So what's up buttercup?
1. It might snow tomorrow night. And I'm talking SNOW. It's supposed to rain all day Wednesday and then change to snow during the night and according to our local weather guys we could get 1", 4", 8", or even a foot of snow. They have no clue. Every forecast is different. At this point I think they're totally guessing about all of it. And of course The Weather Channel has named the storm - Petros.
2. I've mentioned before the Olivia has been dealing with a new health issue and haven't gone into much detail. I'm still not going to get into much detail - I've told a handful of people what's happening and that's that. We did get good news yesterday about her condition so I'm feeling a bit relieved about the whole situations. Ah, #Vaguebooking at its finest.
3. Anyone else tired of the presidential election yet? I'm so SICK AND FREAKING TIRED of hearing a certain billionaire reality tv star's name mentioned. I refuse to type his name here for fear that if I type it enough he'll materialize in my house (think: Beetlejuice). He is running his campaign on earned media because the damn media won't stop talking about him. NO ONE CARES except for the boneheads in the major network newsrooms who still think this clown is news.
4. I've given up eating at night (read: after dinner) for Lent. It's not as bad as it was last year. I'm hoping it'll help me drop some lbs since I'm too damn busy to get to the gym right now. Also, I need a treadmill at home.
I know I had more thoughts to write about yesterday but I didn't write them down so they're gone. All gone.
Happy Tuesday! ;)

Rain + Wind = Panic on Halloween
So, we'll mark this year as the year that Halloween was postponed because of some wind and rain.
Last night while kids all around the country had fun dressing up in costumes and running through their neighborhoods getting obnoxious amounts of candy, a lot of kids in the Toledo area were sitting at home. Not trick or treating.
Why?
Because the powers that be in many communities in the Toledo area decided they needed to "postpone" trick or treating until today, tomorrow, or Sunday because of the weather.
Yes. Seriously.
The weather yesterday was not perfect, but it was warm (freakishly warm). Sure it was rainy and a bit windy. But honestly, it wasn't THE STORM OF THE CENTURY or anything like that.
But our local weather people - and their news desk cohorts - decided to hype up the severity of the weather and get everyone in a panic because OH MY GOD IT'S GOING TO RAIN AND BE WINDY!
The Weather Channel was part of the problem too. They started reporting on Wednesday about the risk of severe weather for MILLIONS of people on Halloween. SHUT YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS! STOCK UP ON SUPPLIES! IT'S GOING TO RAIN. AND BE WINDY.
They even had a reporter giving live reports from Cincinnati all day yesterday because of the RAIN. One would have thought there was a freak inland hurricane making its way through Ohio with all of the hand wringing that was happening on TV.
And of course, everyone on social media was freaking out too. CANCEL trick or treating! We have to STAY SAFE! Everyone act like lemmings and follow the leader as he jumps off the cliff in a state of panic! I even saw people posting on certain news websites that they would NOT vote for the mayor of Toledo in next week's election if he didn't postpone Halloween.
Seriously people? You're going to base your voting decision on the fact that you had to carry an umbrella on Halloween? When did it become OK to think that you're entitled to good weather on Halloween? We live in OHIO for crying out loud. It is usually cold or or windy or rainy or all of the above on Halloween. Get over it and invest in an umbrella.
And so yesterday morning, Toledo, Sylvania, Maumee, Perrysburg, Holland, and most of the surrounding communities announced that Halloween was being postponed until the weekend.
Follow. The. Leader.
And of course, at 6 p.m. last night, it was NOT raining. It was a little breezy. And it would have been PERFECT for trick or treating. But rather than running through the neighborhood collecting candy, the kids were sitting inside, watching a movie. And now we get to trick or treat on November 3.
Happy Un-Halloween.

Winter is never going to end. Ever.
Remember waaaaay back on February 2 when that stupid rodent in Pennsylvania predicted that we would have an early spring and everyone was so happy?
Yeah.
The rodent lied.
He should be fired.
Or made into stew.
Or maybe a hat.
Tomorrow is the "official" first day of Spring.
It's going to be 30 degrees with snow here in northwest Ohio. Not very spring-like if you ask me.
Right now, it's snowing. And freezing cold. And the winds are making it even colder. It's a blustery cold snowy day here in the Hundred Acre Wood.
And while we're on the subject of snow...raise your hands if you're just about over the whole naming of the winter storms thing. Yeah, great idea Weather Channel..let's give each winter storm cute little names like Draco or Gandolf or Nemo. Or Triton. Or Ukko. Who had that brilliant idea? And who thought naming a storm after a little clown fish would make people sit up and take notice?
Dear Weather Channel ... please don't ever name winter storms again. Like ever. I don't care how geeky it made you feel to come up with this list for 2012-2013. Maybe if you had decided to NOT name every freaking snow storm that appeared, it might actually be warm by now. As it is, we're probably going to be in the middle of April dealing with WINTER STORM ZEUS. Thanks a lot.
Yeah.
